Our lambs are born in April and live on pasture their entire lives. They are offered supplemental barley for the last six weeks. At the beginning of November they are transported to a local provincially certified abattoir for slaughter, and then brought to Thompson Rivers University where they are meticulously cut and wrapped to your specifications by the students of the TRU meat cutting program. When you buy Black Mountain lamb, you are eating locally and supporting local producers, businesses and students!
Lambs are available in mid-November and are $6.50/lb based on the hanging (carcass) weight, which is generally 40-50 lbs. This price includes all processing fees and taxes.
Live market lambs are available anytime after the beginning of July for $2.50/lb (live weight).
